Arm Drop

Lesson:  

  • This is a Mindfulness technique that lets the students focus their awareness on what it feels like to be completely relaxed. Feeling what its like will usually trigger the relaxation response.
     

  • If you can, have your students lay on a carpeted floor.
     

  • If seated, suggest they have their hands in their knees or in their lap so they can have a soft place where their arm can land safety, comfortably, and silently.
     

  • They needn't raise their arms (or just their hands) more than a few inches.
