Focus on Feeling 

 

  • When we focus on our senses we can disengage the mind from the story (and drama) that may be inspired by a physical sensation or an emotion. 

  • You can do this exercise anytime, anywhere
     

 

Exercise:

 

  • Sit in a comfortable chair or lay on your bed or on a rug

  • Close your eyes

  • Focus on one sensation… then, if you want, shift it to another sensation.

  • Imagine that you are a visitor from another planet and have never felt/heard/seen/smelled before

  • Imagine that this is a totally new experience to you. 

  • Or think about what if you were to die any moment. Think about if after you die, you will never be able to have this sensation ever again.

  • Let yourself want to REMEMBER it what it's like being you, right now. What is the feeling like?
