Arm Drop

 

This is a Mindfulness/hypnosis technique that leads to great relaxation. With practice, you'll get really good at it and be able to use it anywhere

 

Exercise:

 

  •  Sit in a comfortable chair or lay on your bed or on a rug

  • Close your eyes

  • Feel the weight of one of your arms.

  • Slowly lift the arm, only a couple of inches

  • Feel the weight of your arm

  • Imagine/remember what it felt like when your arm has been totally asleep. 

  • Stay with that feeling, that memory, and let yourself go even deeper into relaxation

  • Tell yourself that as you drop your arm, you will relax even more deeply. As your arm plops in their lap or on the floor (if they're laying down) you will feel very deeply relaxed, and happy.

  • Let your arm drop.

  • Feel it drop.

  • Feel yourself sink deeper into relaxation and happiness.

  • As you are now deeply relaxed, remind yourself of exactly who (and how) you want to be today.

  • Take a moment to experience being their very best.

  • Remember feeling confident and ready for the day.

  • Remember to be (pre)proud of yourself for doing whatever you are excited about accomplishing today.
