Trust

  • In the Classroom - Lesson 15

2 minute Exercise:

During this whole exercise, at each step, remember to pause and remind them to focus on the feeling of trust. Ask them, “What does it feel like in your body? Remember the feeling."

  • Guide the students to...

    • sit or lie on the floor (It’s important that the students can completely relax without threat of falling over and getting hurt.)

    • close their eyes

    • think of how they can trust the chair they are sitting on, or the floor they're lying on. You can stop here, or go on to have them...

    • think of someone, or something, who they feel they can completely Trust. This “person” may be

      • someone they know: a friend, a sibling, a parent, a teacher (living or deceased, or not yet born)

      • a pet

      • a favorite toy or thing

      • a favorite place

      • a rock

      • a plant

      • a spirit, someone they have known who has passed on, a guardian angel, God, …

  • Have the students imagine seeing (sensing) whoever/whatever they have chosen smiling at them, because it knows that it can trust them to always be there for it.

  • Again, remind them to focus on the feeling of trust and remember the feeling. Practice remembering throughout the day whenever they want to be their best!
